Gala Audition Informtion

Cappies Gala Orchestra Auditions

Auditions will be virtual. Please fill out the online audition form and submit a video audition with the below requirements.

Casting selections will be announced via email from the Orchestra Director.

Audition Requirements:

  • Submit a 3-minute video recording, which you will upload to the online form (linked below) that includes:

    • a verbal introduction of yourself.

    • a solo or etude excerpt of your choosing.

    • an excerpt from a grade 5 level band, jazz band, or orchestra piece.

  • If you would like to audition as a woodwind doubler, please submit a video for each instrument.

Rehearsal Schedule:

All rehearsals are MANDATORY.

  • Oakton High School:

    • Tuesday, May 12, 7:00-9:00 pm

    • Wednesday, May 1,3 7:00-9:00 pm

    • Tuesday, May 1,9 7:00-9:00 pm

    • Thursday, May 2,8 7:00-9:00 pm

    • Friday, May ,29 7:00-9:00 pm

  • Dress Rehearsal (Location TBD)

    • Saturday, June 6

  • Gala

    • Sunday, June 7

      • (Call time 10:30am)

Expectations:

  • Orchestra members will need to wear formal black dress clothing (long gown, tux, or black suit) at the Gala. These are not provided by The Cappies.

  • Perform all live music for the duration of the Cappies Gala.

  • Attendance at all rehearsals and punctiality at call times.

  • Orchestra members do not pay for their own Gala ticket. Orchestra members are able to reserve up to two paid guest tickets.
