The G/T (Gowns/Tuxes) students play a vital and fun role in the Gala. It is important that they dress formally and be prepared to stand and walk for several hours.
Attire For Gowns:
You should choose a formal, floor-length dress
It should have shoulder straps and not be too low cut anywhere
Attire For Tuxes:
You can wear either a black tux, or a black or dark suit, white dress shirt, and bow tie.
Note: If you don't have a tux or suit, you can usually borrow a tux from the band or chorus department at your school if any are available. (Many in the past have gone this route. If you don't have the tux with you for this audition, wear as much of your outfit as you have on hand, such as white dress shirt, bow tie, and at least your black dress shoes).
Audition Requirements:
Upload a video showing yourself from head to toe (can be taken on your phone) of you in the dress or tux/suit and the same shoes you will be wearing to the Gala.
For all Audition Videos:
State your name, grade, and school in the video.
Tell us the name of your favorite musical or play and why (maximum 30 seconds).
Then walk across a room, or back and forth from the camera, to show us that you can walk comfortably in your chosen shoes. You will wear these shoes for 5-6 hours, so be sure they are comfortable to walk in, or wear flats.
Please also do a 360-degree turn so that we can see the front and back of your dress.
Rehearsal Schedule:
Mandatory Dress Rehearsal will be held at Langley High School on Sunday, June 1 12:00pm-4:00pm
You will be required to wear your formal attire at this rehearsal (you may change there)
You will need to be at the Kennedy Center on Monday, June 2 all day (from 11:30am until the Gala ends around 10:30pm). There will be another dress rehearsal at 1:00pm that day.
Both rehearsals are mandatory. Please consider this before submitting your audition.
